Dining on Campus

Hey everyone, it’s Jennifer. In this article I’ll be introducing you to some meal options that I know on campus.

1.食堂

まず、Big PapaとBig Mamaがあります。大学の主な食堂です。Big Papa は平日だけ営業します。営業時間は10:15から14:30までです。

平日のBig Mamaの営業時間は11:00から14:00までですが、週末の営業時間は11:00から14:00ぐらいまでです。休みの日に時間が違うかもしれません。

To begin, there are Big Mama and Big Papa. They’re the university’s main dining halls. Big Papa is only open on weekdays. Big Papa’s business hours are from 10:15 to 14:30. Big Mama’s business hours on the weekdays are from 11:30 to 19:00, and on the weekends, business hours are from 11:00 to about 14:00. During holidays, these hours may differ.

食堂に行く時、二つのオプションがあります。最初のオプションはメニューから注文することです。他のオプションはいろいろな惣菜（そうざい）を選ぶことです。このオプションを選べば、食事の値段はグラム単位の重量を計算しています。1グラムは約1.3円です。どちらにしても、両方のオプションは安いと思います。

When you go to the dining halls, you have two options. The first is to order from a menu. The other option is to choose from several side dishes. If you choose this option, the price of a meal is calculated by grams. One gram is equal to about 1.3 yen. Nevertheless, I think both options are cheap.

2.コンビニ

キャンパスで他の食事のオプションもあります。たいてい、学生は二つのコンビニ「7/11」と「Co-op」に行きますが、早く込みます。だから、あまり時間がなければ、昼ご飯の前に食事を買うべきだと思います。

There are other meal options on campus as well. Generally, students go to the two convenience stores- 7/11 and Co-op, but they become crowded quickly. So if you do not have much time, I think you should buy a meal before lunch.
